Description: A location (with a fixed position) where one can find a place, product or service. It is typically identified by name rather than by address, and will be characterised by a type (e.g., Place of Worship, Restaurant, etc). A Point of Interest may be used as a reference point or a target in a location based service request.
Description: Characterised by halophytic (salt loving) trees, shrubs and other plants growing in brackish to saline tidal waters. It includes various kinds of trees up to medium height and shrubs that grow in saline coastal sediment habitats in the tropics and subtropics.
Mangroves provide support to important functions of the biosphere including coastal protection, carbon sequestration and biodiversity. The resiliency and vitality of coastal social-ecological systems are threatened if these areas are not well preserved.
Description: An area of bare unvegetated surface, formed by natural loose materials resulting from physical sedimentary processes. The Sandy Area may have a Name.
Description: A coastal or inland flat area characterised by extensive salt flats or salt pans . Sabkhas are formed through the evaporation of seawater or groundwater, leaving behind deposits of salt and other minerals. Salt accumulates in a Sabkha as the result of semi-arid to arid climate. The Sabkha is mostly covered with sand or fine alluvial mud which acts as a quicksand, which makes the Sabkha hazardous to people and vehicles moving across its surface. A Sabkha may have a Name.
Description: An area of developed and maintained gardens and includes decorative outdoor landscape elements in the gardens, including water features, sculptures, paved or decorated surfaces of rock, stone, brick, blocks or similar materials. The Landscaped Area excludes driveways, parking, loading or storage areas.
Description: A piece of cultivated land in open terrain usually delimited with bunds, used for agricultural purposes. The Cultivation Area has a name. The Cultivation Area may be part of, or completely separate to, an Oasis.
Description: A Road with an unmaintained surface, which can be used by 4WD vehicles and in some cases by 2WD vehicles. The Track is typically beaten by use rather than constructed and can be rough, corrugated, sandy or boggy. Track conditions can be variable and unpredictable.

Description: Road Centreline represents the geometry of a road as a line (compared to Road Area which models the geometry of a road as a polygon). The Road Centreline is the median distance between the outer edges of a road.

Description: An area of ground designed and maintained for the movement of pedestrians, bicycles or e-mobility devices, and not for vehicular use. A Pedestrian Thoroughfare is distinct from a Road as the Pedestrian Thoroughfare has not been constructed for the purpose of carrying vehicular traffic. In Urban and Semi-urban areas, a Pedestrian Thoroughfare is usually constructed of asphalt, concrete, or gravel depending upon its function and the amount of pedestrian traffic it is expected to carry.
Description: A barrier that can be opened and closed, locked or unlocked, or lowered to block an entrance. Gates may prevent or control entry or exit, or they may be merely decorative.
Description: A solid barrier, normally a linear (or curved) permanent structure that hinders or prevents ground movement by people, vehicles or animals. It is long in relation to its width, and thicker than the somewhat similar Fence. Walls will tend to be straighter than fences. A Sea wall will be constructed to protect land from erosion by the Sea, and forms part of the Shoreline.
Description: A barrier designed to prevent unintended or unauthorised passage of pedestrians, animals or vehicles. Unlike a Wall, Fences are usually made of wood, wire, rails or other relatively light material, and do not have a solid foundation along its whole length. There will be at least one Gate in a Fence.
